Conversations about fashion and sustainability have been picking up lately. More and more people become aware of the devastating impacts fashion has on the environment and on workers who make clothes we wear. Facing the facts about the true cost of fashion, many question their consumption habits and try to find alternative ways to buy better. Research shows, however, that one of the most radical and efficient ways to reduce the carbon footprint of your wardrobe is to simply abstain from buying new garments. Interestingly, minimalism in fashion consumption has been linked to higher levels of reported subjective wellbeing - in other words, people who own less clothes tend to be happier.
Join us for a conversation with Dr. Katia Dayan Vladimirova from the University of Geneva to discuss how much clothes is enough and how we improve our wellbeing through our wardrobe.
